# Are cookies used for identifying company visitors?

Website Leads does not use cookies to identify companies visiting your website. Instead, company identification is based on the IP address associated with each visit.

A first-party cookie may be stored when a visitor uses the opt-out function. This cookie is used solely to remember the visitor’s choice and is not used for company identification.
